Why Daily Bible Reading?

The heart of our advice to you is to "Read the Bible every day."

By "read" we don't mean "just drag your eyes across the text, half-asleep."

We mean "meditate" on the words.
We mean "obey" the words.

For every single verse in the Bible, we should ask, "What does the Lord require of me in this verse?"

Every verse in the Bible is a command. Every verse is "law."

There are no verses in the Bible that say "Thou shalt read the Bible every day." So what? Does God have to say "Thou shalt" or "Thou shalt not" every time He wants you to do something?
That is not how the Bible speaks. Read that link, then come back to grasp the real significance of the following verses:

Listen to God's Word Daily

Psalm 5:3  My voice shalt Thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee, and will look up.

Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Isaiah 50:4  The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of a teacher, that I may know how to sustain the weary with a word. Morning by morning he wakens -- wakens my ear to listen as those who are taught.

Wisdom/The Holy Sprit/The Word speaks:

Proverbs 8:30,34  then I was beside him, like a master worker; and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always, {34}  Blessed is the man that heareth Me, watching daily at My gates, waiting at the posts of My doors.

What does Jesus mean by "bread" and "daily?"

Luke 11:3  Give us day by day our daily bread.
Luke 4:4  And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

The Bereans

Acts 17:11  These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Study in a Community or Fellowship

Acts 2:46  And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Follow the Lord Daily

Luke 9:23  And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

Teaching

One of the best ways to learn something is to try to teach it to someone else.

You should be a teacher, and you should be teaching every day.

Hebrews 5:

12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

You should teach your children the Bible every day, all day long.

Deuteronomy 6:6-9  And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: {7} And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. {8} And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. {9} And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

By doing so, you teach yourself the Bible more and more each day.

You should have been taught the Bible every day from the womb. You probably weren't the beneficiary of such a wonderful education. If you're like most people born after 1957, you're a victim of Educational Malpractice. Our course helps you overcome this deficiency, so you can teach others daily:

Hebrews 3:13  But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Acts 5:42  And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Acts 19:9  When some stubbornly refused to believe and spoke evil of the Way before the congregation, he left them, taking the disciples with him, and argued daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.

Acts 17:17  Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

Luke 19:47  And He taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy Him,
